Terms and conditions provide clarity about what you may expect, which responsibilities exist and how processes run. Without terms, misunderstandings and problems can arise much faster. Clear agreements up front prevent discussions afterwards — which is exactly why terms belong to every professional cooperation.
What it means for your day-to-day logistics
Logistics is about deadlines, documentation, risks and international rules. Terms and conditions set out how damage, delay, costs, customs matters and exceptional situations are handled. That prevents discussions, provides structure and ensures your shipments are processed according to clear rules.
The terms do not stand alone either. Anyone trading internationally also deals with delivery terms such as the Incoterms, which determine where costs and risks pass between buyer and seller, and with the question of whether transport insurance is needed alongside the statutory and contractual liability of carriers and forwarders.

TOP is a member of FENEX, the Dutch organisation for forwarding and logistics, and works under the Dutch Forwarding Conditions. These conditions are the standard in the Dutch forwarding sector and regulate, among other things, the liability of the forwarder. So you know that the rules under which TOP works are widely recognised and proven throughout the sector.
