ZIM stops Far East service

The Israelian liner ZIM has announced to cease their service on the Far East Europe Trade with the remark that they will return end of 2009 with 10.000 TEU vessels.

Post Conference Period

The Far Eastern Freight Conference (FEFC) was the meeting point for the leading shipping lines where they would determine rates and surcharges at certain levels. Starting the 18th of October 2008 this form of price fixing is no longer allowed by Mrs. Kroes, Euro Commisionaire. This means that every single shipping line will have the start setting their own rates and surcharges.
